Exploring Christianity

We run sessions, usually over several weeks, for people who are keen to explore who Jesus is and what the Christian life looks like. These are also great groups for people who are re-exploring faith after some ‘time off’. Get in touch if you’d like to find out when the next one starts.

Youth Group

Our friendly youth group for Year 9–13s meets every Thursday in term time from 6–7.30pm in the church hall.

We have dinner together, hang, have fun, and chew the fat about who this Jesus guy is and why he matters. You don't have to believe in God — this is just a place to belong.

If you're into music, the session begins twice a month with a bit of a jam as we lead at our monthly Café Church services (or you can just hang).

Sessions are led by our awesome youth workers Bee and Jakob. For more information don't hesitate to email them at youth@newlandsanglican.org.nz.

We also take part in the amazing Youth Camps run by Anglican Youth Movement.

Come along! We'd love to meet you.

Supporting Children and Families in Faith

This year we hope to establish a parents and caregivers small group.  The goal is to meet online for a short time in an evening once kids are down for a short learning session on a topic around parenting in faith; and to meet termly with all the families together for hangs and fun.

We also love the Strandz and Bible Explore websites if you are looking for fun activities to support your tamariki at home.

Small groups

Small groups (usually about 6-8 people) meet fortnightly at a variety of times and places. Each small group is shaped around three dimensions:

  • Up — drawing closer to God through worship, prayer, and listening together

  • In — building real friendships, supporting each other through the joys and challenges of the week

  • Out — looking outward to the reality of our lives, our neighbours and our city, exploring how we bless those around us

Groups are informal and welcoming, whether you're a long-time follower of Jesus or just curious about faith. Each group has its own character, but all three dimensions are part of every group's life together.

If you'd like to join a small group, or hear more about what's currently running, get in touch.
